What is AIOU?

Among the largest universities in the world, Allama Iqbal open University (AIOU) is on the number four. Its main campus is located at Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. 
AIOU  have 44 regional campuses and centers throughout the country.
AIOU motto is Education For All and its Chancellor is President Of Pakistan.
The most important thing of AIOU is to offers distance learning educational programmes. 

University offers programmes from Matric to PHD. AIOU has distinction from other universities, a person from any kind of field can get education without getting holidays or study leave from his job. 

WORKSHOP 

Because the required education credit hours (workshop) for the course can be, achieve after 1 pm for limited and selected days. So every person can attend the workshop without taking leaves from his job.

ADMISSIONS

Usually, AIOU admissions are opened two times in a year. AIOU admissions firstly open in February to March for Autumn semester. Secondly, AIOU admissions open in August to September for spring semester. The exact date can be seen on the advertisement or on the AIOU official website www.aiou.edu.pk.
You can fill admission form online and download it. Then submit the required fee in any branch of MCB or Allied bank limited. 
You will receive admission confirmation sms in 2 months after the closing date of admissions. You can also check online on AIOU official website by this Link about the confirmation of your admission. 

BOOKS

After confirmation of admission you will receive books in a month or so. 

IF ADMISSION NOT CONFIRMED

If your admission is not confirmed in due time then you can submit a complain in complaint cell by this Link.
Also check rejected candidates list as some students make mistakes in their admission form or any other mistake can reject your admission. 
Don't worry you can correct your mistake as solution is mentioned on the list.
If your admission is confirmed but you didn't receive books then you can complain on this Link.
But first you can check that either your books have been dispatched or not, by this Link.

ADDRESS 

The most important thing every student should know is to provide a meaningful and reachable mailing address that help you to receive mail on time.

Due to this, many AIOU students can't receive books, workshop schedule, Roll no slip on time.

ASSIGNMENTS 

With the reception of books, writings task is assigned for every subject to students called assignments, that is submitted to assigned tutors.

In this time workshops are also scheduled for effective learning and exams success. If you missed only one day workshop of a specific subject then you necessarily have to attend the workshop again for that specific subject.

Every subject has two days workshops and the day start from 1pm to 6pm.

EXAMINATIONS

After one month or so, the date sheet for commencement of examination is announced. 

The examinations are also scheduled after 1 pm usually at 2 pm. 

WHO ORGANIZES THIS?

AIOU hire govt teachers as a tutors for assignments marking, workshops, examinations and paper marking. They are govt officials and qualified & experienced persons.

RESULT

After 3 months approximately the AIOU updated assignments marks on the official website.
Result is also announced after about 4 to 5 months of exams.
